In case of: walls and rock masses; landslides and unstable scope; tunnel excavations; bulkheads and levees; earth and concrete dams; OTR suggest in-place extensometer and extensoinclinometer OG312.
When is needed to monitor the distance variation of the magnetical rings of an inlcinometer casing extensimetric measures are effectuated. Extensometer highlights displacements along the vertical straight line.
To define the displacement in the space of the caising it’ll be use an extensoinclinometer. It allows the user to monitor the displacement lon the traight vertical line and the inclination through the horizontal floor providing the variation on the three spatial coordinates –x,y and z- on every point of the installation of the inclinometric casing.
Sensors are sealed in resin to resist to heavy pressure too. Instrument is suittable with rings and tube on the market. It’s up to the custode, after an accurated analyses and a commercial-tecnical advice, choose to readout with a manual unit or rely on a datalogger installed at the hole mounth. If it’s choosen the last options, OTR have got OTRMonitoring software that allows the user to manage the measures in running time with relativ activation of alert thresholds.
How does it be installed?
After having verified poses quote of the in-place probes, with removable extensoinclinometer probe, it’s proceeded to fix the in-place extensometers/extensoinclinometers at the head of support with steel lanyard, provided on demand by OTR.
The metal cable should be long: equal to the suspention high plus 20cm; the gap will be necessary to wrap the lanyard to the ring on the bottom of the probe and it will be fixed with a locking clamp. Once fixed the system the electric cable will be unwind, firmly taped to the steel cord at intervals of 1 or 2m, passing it over the suspension head for subsequent wiring. At this point the probe with the high wheel is lowered into guide 1 at the chosen height and the procedure is repeated until all the probes have been positioned at their position. Obviously the functioning of the sensors is previously checked by placing the probes in pipes at inclinations known by the manufacturer. The first measurements are checked with a control unit.
To correct data processing, if the extensometer/extensoinclinometers are removed, for any reason, remember to carry out the measurements before and after positioning the probes; for correct data processing.
