Specifications

In case of: movements associated with landslides in soil, monitoring the movement in unstable fractures in rock masses and slopes in landslide; OTR suggest wire extensometer.

The instrument is made up by a stainless steel Case containing a pulley with potentiometric sensor and tensioner, having 2m run, fixed on 2m of steel.

On the measuring side there’s an achor ring with a dowel that has to be tense, at constant tension, till the anchoring distance, till 30m long, and bolted to the reference base. The inner components are shielded by a stainless steel coat.

How is it installed?

If there’s melted material: realize two wells -(50x 50x50)cm- outher to the measures extremes.

Level the inside of the well with concrete to make up a support surface. In case of rock installation use expantions plugs and lock the box. When the concrete is dry bolt the components of the instrument, connect the cable of the tensioner to the feed back and then connect the extremities with a 1.5mm diameter cable. Wire the electric cable to allows the instrument to the readouts. Tense the wire and move it to identify the sign of the mesuring and check the good functioning of the equipment. Compile the measured value and protect the cable from atmospherical agents.
